Nature
When the content is over 98%, it is white crystals; when it is 50%, it is a paste. It is soluble in benzene, chloroform, ether, acetone and carbon disulfide, and slightly soluble in water and methanol. The theoretical reactive oxygen species content is 6.62%. The half-life at 72 to 73 degrees Celsius is 10 hours. It is flammable in a dry state and can cause explosive decomposition when exposed to heat, friction, vibration or contamination by impurities. It will react vigorously with strong acids, strong bases, sulfides, reducing agents, co-catalysts and accelerators for polymerization.

Preparation method
Cool the 30% caustic soda solution to 10℃ after stirring, and then add 30% hydrogen peroxide drop by drop. After the addition is completed, reduce the material temperature to around 0 ℃, then add benzoyl chloride, and let it stand for layering to separate the lower layer of benzoyl peroxide. Conduct low-temperature drying to maintain a moisture content of 25% to 30% in the finished product for storage.

Purpose
Powdered products are mainly used as polymerization initiators for acrylic resins, vinyl acetate resins, methacrylate resins, etc. Paste products (50% of this product and 50% thickener) are used as curing catalysts for polyester resin molding processing. Liquid type products (75% of this product and 25% water) are used as polymerization catalysts for polystyrene resin. It can also be used as a crosslinking agent, bleaching agent and oxidant for unsaturated resins, silicone rubber and fluororubber.

Safety
Oral LD50 for rats: 7710mg/kg. It is irritating to the upper respiratory tract. It has a strong irritating and sensitizing effect on the skin. It can cause damage if it enters the eye. Flammable, explosive, highly irritating, and sensitizing. Comprehensive protection measures should be taken. In case of accidental inhalation or contact with the skin, rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or physiological saline and seek medical attention. It is strictly prohibited to transport together with acids, flammable materials, organic substances, reducing agents, self-ignicating items, and items that ignite on contact with moisture in the same vehicle.
