Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, also known as EVA, is a polymer prepared by the copolymerization reaction of ethylene and vinyl acetate.

Nature:
1. Elasticity and softness: EVA has excellent elasticity and softness, can maintain its shape, and has good resilience against bending and stretching.
2. Excellent weather resistance and chemical resistance: EVA has excellent weather resistance and can resist the erosion of sunlight, oxidation, acids, alkalis and other chemical substances, thereby extending its service life.
3. Processability: EVA can be easily processed into various shapes and sizes, including films, plates, particles, etc.
4. Wear resistance and tear resistance: EVA has excellent wear resistance, which can maintain its physical properties over a long period of use, and it also has high tear resistance.
5. Chemical inertness: EVA is compatible with many solvents and chemicals and has low permeability.

Purpose:
1. Plastic products: EVA can be used to make insoles, children's toys, beach sandals, swimming goggles, etc., due to its good elasticity, strong softness and wear resistance.
2. Membrane materials: EVA can be used in solar panel encapsulation films, agricultural mulching films, building waterproof films, etc.

Preparation:
Generally, ethylene, vinyl acetate and an appropriate amount of polymerization initiators are added to the reactor, and copolymerization reactions are carried out under certain temperatures and pressures. After the reaction is completed, EVA is produced through post-treatment measures such as solvent extraction and drying.
